Electricity today is often produced in an old fashioned way with fossil resources or uranium as base. In an intelligent civilization you must have possibilities to store the energy quanta as the sun delivers. One way is to transform the energy quanta to biomass, methane, hydrogen or chemical energy (battery). Another way is to reuse the energy quanta.
